Age Limit

Selection Method

• • Written Examination:
    • Type: Objective, multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
    • Papers and Subjects:
      • Paper 1: General Knowledge (100 marks, based on BPSC Prelims syllabus).
      • Paper 2: Geology or Mining Engineering (100 marks, candidates choose based on their qualification).
      • Paper 3: Mineral Policy and Related Acts, Rules, and Exchange (100 marks).
    • Total Marks: 300.
    • Duration: 2 hours per paper (tentative).
    • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
    • Purpose: Shortlist candidates for the interview stage based on written test performance.
  • Interview:
    • Marks: 50.
    • Purpose: Assess candidates’ communication skills, subject knowledge, and suitability for the MDO role.
    • Shortlisted candidates from the written exam are called for a personal interview conducted by a BPSC panel.

  The final merit list is prepared based on the combined marks from the written examination (300 marks) and the interview (50 marks). Candidates must clear each stage to be eligible for appointment

Qualification

• Candidates must possess a 2nd Class Master’s Degree (M.Sc.) or M.Tech in Geology or Applied Geology, or a Degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized university or institute in India.
• The degree must be from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) or an equivalent authority.
