The UPSC CAPF selection process is a rigorous three-stage evaluation:

Stage 1: Written Examination

This stage comprises two offline papers conducted on a single day:

• Paper-I: General Studies (250 marks) - This paper assesses your knowledge of current events, Indian history, Indian polity and governance, economic and social development, geography, science and technology, security and national issues.
• Paper-II: Essay (200 marks) - This paper evaluates your writing skills, analytical ability, and logical thinking.

Stage 2: Physical Standards Test (PST) / Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Medical Examination

Candidates who qualify in the written exam will be called for the physical tests. The specific test (PST or PET) depends on the CAPF you're applying for. Both tests assess your physical fitness and stamina. Additionally, you will undergo a medical examination to ensure you meet the required health standards.

Stage 3: Personality Test/Interview

Candidates who clear the physical tests and medical examination will be invited for a personality test/interview. This interview assesses your leadership qualities, communication skills, mental alertness, and suitability for the role of an Assistant Commandant.
