- Assistant Commissioner: Degree Pass
- District Educational Officer: B.Ed/ PG Degree

- Assistant Commissioner (1010): 34 Years
- District Educational Officer (2062)
  - For Open Market Candidates : 32 Years
  - For Teachers employed in recognized aided Secondary Schools and Higher Secondary Schools: 42 Years
Mode of Selection :
The selection process for Assistant Commissioner and District Educational Officer positions involves three stages:
1. Preliminary Exam: This objective-type test acts as a screening round. It assesses your General Tamil, General Knowledge (including Indian Polity & Economy, Science & Technology, Current Affairs), Mental Ability & Aptitude, and Mathematics.
2. Main Exam: Candidates who qualify in the preliminary exam proceed to the main exam. This is a descriptive test, evaluating your writing skills, analytical abilities, and subject-specific knowledge relevant to the chosen post (Law for Assistant Commissioner and Education for District Educational Officer).
3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates from the main exam will be called for a personal interview to assess their suitability for the role.
