Vacancies and Start Dates of Application:

The OPSC has announced two separate recruitments for Assistant Professor positions in 2024:

1. Assistant Professor (Stage I) - Group A, Odisha Education Service (College Branch):

• Number of Vacancies: 385
• Application Starting Date: March 12, 2024
• Application Closing Date: April 16, 2024

2. Assistant Professor (Broad Speciality) - Group A, Health & Family Welfare Department:

• Number of Vacancies: 102
• Application Starting Date: March 20, 2024 (tentative)
• Application Closing Date: April 20, 2024 (tentative)

A candidate must:-

1. possess a Master's Degree with at least 55% of marks or its equivalent grade, in the concerned/ relevant/ allied subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a Foreign University.

   Provided that for the candidates belonging to SC, ST, SEBC & PWD categories, the requirement of securing at least 55% marks shall be reduced to 50% marks or its equivalent grade.

2. have cleared National Eligibility Test (NET) meant for appointment of Assistant Professor (Stage-I) or must acquired a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/ relevant/ allied subject from an Indian University or a Foreign University.

• Minimum Age: 21 Years
• Maximum Age: 45 Years

The selection process for Assistant Professor positions usually involves a written exam and an interview. The written exam consists of two papers:

• Paper I: This paper assesses General Studies and Mental Ability with 100 marks.
• Paper II: This paper focuses on the specific subject chosen by the candidate with 150 marks.
