In the Naxalite-affected areas of central and eastern India, the CRPF is deployed to deal with left-wing extremism. The force works in close coordination with state police forces and other security agencies to neutralize the Naxalite threat. The CRPF has suffered significant casualties in this region, but its personnel have shown remarkable courage and dedication in the face of adversity.
Apart from its role in maintaining internal security, the CRPF is also involved in various civic activities, such as disaster management and relief operations. The force has played a crucial role in providing relief and assistance during natural disasters, such as floods and earthquakes.
The CRPF is a highly professional force, and its personnel undergo rigorous training to prepare them for the challenges they may face in the line of duty. The force has a well-established system of training institutions, which impart training in various fields, such as weapons handling, tactics, and physical fitness.
The force has also been modernizing its equipment and weapons systems to keep pace with the changing security scenario in the country. It has been inducting new weapons, such as assault rifles, carbines, and sniper rifles, to enhance its operational capabilities.

The force has suffered over 1,500 casualties in the last decade alone, but its personnel have shown remarkable courage and dedication in the face of adversity.
In recent years, the government has been taking several measures to improve the working conditions of CRPF personnel and to enhance their welfare. These measures include the provision of better accommodation, medical facilities, and pension benefits.
