ONGC Recruitment 2025: Eligibility Criteria: Education
- Graduate Apprentice (Technical): Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) in disciplines like Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering from a recognized university. Minimum 60% aggregate marks.
- Graduate Apprentice (Non-Technical): Degree in B.A./B.Com/B.Sc. in fields such as Accounts, HR, or Geology.
- Technician Apprentice (Diploma): Three-year Diploma in Engineering trades like Civil, Instrumentation, or Electronics from AICTE-approved institutions.
- Trade Apprentice:
- For 10th/ITI: High School (10th pass) with ITI in trades like Welder, Machinist, or Plumber (one-year duration).
- For 12th/ITI: Higher Secondary (12th pass) with ITI in advanced trades like Computer Operator or Stenographer.
Eligibility Criteria: Age
- Age Limit: 18 - 24 Years
- Upper Age Limit for SC/ST: 5 Years
- Upper Age Limit for OBC (NCL): 3 Years
- Upper Age Limit for PwBD: 10 Years
- Upper Age Limit for PwBD (SC/ST): 15 Years
- Upper Age Limit for PwBD (OBC NCL): 13 Years
- Relaxation: Age Relaxation is applicable as per rules

ONGC Recruitment 2025: How to Apply
- Please check whether you are eligible to apply for the seats based on the qualification criteria as mentioned in Para C and whether you belong to the eligible districts as mentioned in Annexure -1
- Paper based applications will NOT be accepted
- For NAPS (Skill India portal of Govt of India) in which candidates applying for trades from Sl.No. 1 to 29 have to register on https://apprenticeshipindia.gov.in, wef 16.10.2025 only.
- For trades mentioned at SI No. 30 to 39 (Para D), candidates have to register on portal of Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT) i.e. https://nats.education.gov.in, wef 17.10.2025 only.
- Candidates are advised to regularly visit the above said for latest information on the subject and notification
ONGC Recruitment 2025: Selection Method
Selections for engagement of Apprentices would be based on the merit drawn on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination as stipulated in the advertisement. In case of a similar number in merit, a person with higher age would be considered. No canvassing or influencing would be acceptable at any time and may result in rejection of the candidature. Reservation of positions will be followed as per Government of India Policy on SC/ST/OBC/PwBD categories.
- Shortlisting: Based on percentage/marks in the qualifying exam (e.g., 10th, Diploma, Degree). Weightage: 100% for merit.
- Written Test (If Applicable): Objective-type questions on trade-specific knowledge, general awareness, and aptitude for shortlisted candidates.
- Document Verification: Originals of educational certificates, age proof, caste/PwBD certificate, and ID.
- Medical Fitness: Basic health check-up aligned with ONGC standards.
