Uttarakhand Teacher Eligibility Test (UTET) 2023

The UTET 2023 was conducted on September 29, 2023, for both Paper I and Paper II. The exam was held in two shifts: morning shift (9:30 AM to 12:30 PM) and afternoon shift (2:00 PM to 5:00 PM).

The Uttarakhand Board of Secondary Education (UBSE) has announced the results of the Uttarakhand Teacher’s Eligibility Test (UTET) Paper 1 and Paper 2. Applicants who appeared for the Uttarakhand Teacher Eligibility Test on November 29 may view their UTET result 2023 at the official website, ukutet.com.

It is essential that all the candidates must have their login credentials which include their date of birth, registration number and password to check the result of UTET 2023 exam.

UTET 2023 Eligibility

  • The candidates must have passed the Senior Secondary (Class 12) or equivalent examination with at least 50% marks.
  • The candidates must have completed the teacher training course recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

UTET 2023 Exam Pattern

Paper I of UTET 2023 was designed to assess the candidates' general teaching aptitude and knowledge of child development and pedagogy. The paper had 150 multiple choice questions for a total of 150 marks. This paper is for those candidates who want to teach class I to V. It includes questions on Child Development and Pedagogy, Language, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, and General Awareness.

Paper II of UTET 2023 focused on the subject knowledge of the candidates. The paper had 150 multiple choice questions for a total of 150 marks. Candidates had to choose one subject from the list of options, which included Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Mathematics, Science, Social Science and Environmental Science. This paper is for those candidates who want to teach class VI to VIII. It includes questions related to Child Development and Pedagogy, Language (English/Hindi), Mathematics, Science and General Awareness.

The UTET 2023 was a two-paper examination:

  • Paper I: General Teaching Aptitude and Child Development and Pedagogy
    • Duration: 3 hours
    • Number of questions: 150
    • Maximum marks: 150
  • Paper II: Subject Knowledge
    • Duration: 3 hours
    • Number of questions: 150
    • Maximum marks: 150

Marking Scheme

Each question carried one mark. There was no negative marking for incorrect answers.

UTET Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the UTET 2023, candidates must have the following qualifications:

  • Paper I:
    • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree from a recognized university or institution
    • D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education) from a recognized university or institution
  • Paper II:
  • Bachelor's degree in the subject they want to teach from a recognized university or institution

The application for the UTET 2023 was done online through the official website of the UBSE. Candidates had to create an account and fill in the online application form. along with the required documents, including scanned copies of their educational qualifications, identity proof, and signature.
